Collection: Wisdom Prints

This is the deepest collection in the shop: close to a thousand lines on how to live, drawn from every tradition we cover. Laozi and Confucius, Seneca and Marcus Aurelius, Leonardo, Goethe and Tolstoy sit alongside proverbs from Korea, Japan, Russia, Germany, Italy, Spain and Croatia that have been saying the same things, more plainly, for centuries.

Wisdom lines are quiet by nature, and they suit quiet rooms: a bedroom, a reading chair, a hallway you pass through each morning, a study. A line about patience or self-knowledge does not date. Non-English prints carry the original only, with the English translation on the product page; Chinese and Japanese are set vertically, as they should be.

Questions people ask

How do I narrow down a thousand quotes? Filter by language from the menu, or start from an author collection (Laozi, Confucius, Goethe, Rilke) and follow the related prints at the bottom of each page.

Are the sources reliable? Each product page carries a confidence grade: high, medium or disputed. Proverbs are credited to their tradition, not to an invented author.

Which sizes? Eight, from 5 x 7 inches to 24 x 36 inches, plus A4, as a PDF with embedded vector type.
