You must stay drunk on writing so reality cannot destroy you. — Ray Bradbury | Printable Wall Art

“You must stay drunk on writing so reality cannot destroy you.”

Words by Ray Bradbury (1920-2012) — Author of Fahrenheit 451 and The Martian Chronicles.

About this quote

Creative immersion protects the mind from the harshness of daily life. Writing acts as an intoxicating shield, allowing the author to remain consumed by imagination rather than overwhelmed by worldly troubles. Bradbury suggests that intense devotion to creative work is not merely a passion, but a necessary survival strategy for artists living in a difficult world.

This line appears in Ray Bradbury's 1990 essay collection Zen in the Art of Writing. It reflects his lifelong philosophy that passionate, joyful creation is an essential defence for any artist.

Writers and artists often hang this print in a home study or creative studio to encourage daily focus.
