You don't have to be great to start, but you have to… — Zig Ziglar | Printable Wall Art

“You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.”

Words by Zig Ziglar (1926-2012) — Motivational speaker and author.

About this quote

This line addresses the common trap of waiting until you feel fully prepared before taking action. It reminds us that expertise is developed through practice rather than inherited at birth. Delaying a project until conditions are perfect usually leads to inaction. By beginning with whatever skills you currently possess, you create the opportunity to grow and eventually achieve excellence.

Popularised by the American author and motivational speaker Zig Ziglar during the late twentieth century. It appeared regularly in his books, audio programmes, and public lectures, becoming one of his signature sayings on personal development and goal setting.

People often hang this in a home office or study as a daily prompt to overcome hesitation.
