Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing. — Vince Lombardi | Printable Wall Art

“Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing.”

Words by Vince Lombardi (1913-1970) — NFL head coach, won the first two Super Bowls with the Green Bay Packers.

About this quote

This famous statement expresses an uncompromising commitment to victory and excellence. It suggests that competing without the ultimate aim of winning misses the true purpose of sport and ambition. Rather than celebrating mere participation, the line highlights dedication, intense focus, and the drive to achieve top performance above all other considerations.

Although commonly associated with American football coach Vince Lombardi in the 1950s, the phrase was originally spoken by UCLA football coach Henry Sanders in 1949. Lombardi later adopted it as his personal philosophy.

People often hang this print in a home gym or study to foster relentless motivation and focus.
