Wo ich Lebendiges fand, da fand ich Willen zur Macht. — Friedrich Nietzsche | Printable Wall Art

“Wo ich Lebendiges fand, da fand ich Willen zur Macht.”
“Wherever I found the living, there I found will to power.”

Words by Friedrich Nietzsche (1844-1900) — German philosopher.

About this quote

Nietzsche suggests that the drive to grow, exert influence, and master one's environment is a fundamental characteristic of all living things. Rather than mere survival, life constantly seeks expansion, self-overcoming, and the expression of strength. In terms of leadership and personal motivation, this quote implies that ambition and the desire to shape the world are natural human instincts.

This line appears in Nietzsche's philosophical novel Thus Spoke Zarathustra, published between 1883 and 1885. It forms part of the section titled On Self-Overcoming, where the prophet Zarathustra explores the primary drives of living beings.

People often hang this print in a study or office to encourage determination, leadership, and personal growth.
