What can you do to promote world peace? Go home and love… — Mother Teresa | Printable Wall Art

“What can you do to promote world peace? Go home and love your family.”

Words by Mother Teresa (1910-1997) — Catholic nun and missionary, Nobel Peace Prize laureate.

About this quote

This line suggests that global harmony begins with small, immediate actions within our own households. Rather than focusing on grand political gestures, true peace is cultivated through daily care, patience and compassion for those closest to us. By creating a loving home environment, we build the moral foundation for empathy and kindness that eventually spreads outward into the wider community.

Mother Teresa delivered this advice during her Nobel Peace Prize address in December 1979. Asked how ordinary individuals could contribute to global harmony, she emphasised that peace must start within the home before it can reach the rest of the world.

Families often hang this print in a hallway or living room as a daily reminder of home priorities.
