About this quote

This quote highlights the crucial importance of strategy and foresight. True victory is secured through careful planning, calculation, and positioning before any conflict begins. Success comes from creating conditions where winning is inevitable. In contrast, those who rush into action without adequate preparation rely on luck, attempting to figure out how to succeed while already amidst the struggle.

This line comes from The Art of War, an ancient Chinese military treatise attributed to the strategist Sun Tzu. Written over two thousand years ago, the text remains a classic work on strategy, conflict, and leadership.

People usually hang this print in a study or home office as a quiet reminder to plan thoroughly before acting.
