Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to… — Albert Einstein | Printable Wall Art

“Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value.”

Words by Albert Einstein (1879-1955) — Theoretical physicist, developed the theory of relativity.

About this quote

This statement encourages focusing on personal integrity and character rather than external rewards like status or wealth. Einstein suggests that true worth comes from contributing meaningfully to society and helping others. By prioritising ethical principles and substance over superficial achievements, a person builds a genuinely fulfilling life that brings lasting benefit to the wider world around them.

Einstein shared this advice during an interview with William Miller, published in Life magazine in 1955. It reflects his lifelong scepticism towards fame and his preference for personal modesty and moral responsibility.

People often hang this print in a home study or classroom to encourage thoughtful reflection on personal goals.
