The time is always right to do what is right. — Martin Luther King Jr. | Printable Wall Art

“The time is always right to do what is right.”

Words by Martin Luther King Jr. (1929-1968) — Civil rights leader.

About this quote

This line reminds us that moral action should never be postponed for the sake of convenience or safety. Doing what is ethical and just is an immediate duty, not something to delay until circumstances become easier. It encourages personal responsibility, urging people to follow their conscience regardless of popular opinion or the risks involved.

Martin Luther King Jr. spoke these words during a commencement address at Oberlin College in October 1964. He frequently revisited the phrase throughout the civil rights movement to challenge racial injustice and social complacency across America.

People often hang this in a home office or classroom to serve as a daily prompt for integrity.
