Cuanto más tienes, más quieres. — Spanish Proverb | Printable Wall Art

“Cuanto más tienes, más quieres.”
“The more you have, the more you want.”

A traditional Spanish saying, set as gallery-quality typographic wall art.

About this quote

This timeless observation addresses the nature of human desire and the illusion that material wealth brings lasting satisfaction. Instead of extinguishing want, acquiring more possessions often expands a person's appetite for further gain. It serves as a gentle warning against endless ambition, suggesting that contentment comes from appreciating what one already holds rather than constantly seeking more.

This traditional Spanish proverb has circulated orally for generations across the Hispanic world. As a piece of folk wisdom, its exact origin remains unknown, though similar expressions appear in ancient moral literature across many cultures.

People often place this print in a home office or study as a daily reminder to practise mindfulness over greed.
