The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing. — Stephen Covey | Printable Wall Art

“The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing.”

Words by Stephen Covey (1932-2012) — Author of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.

About this quote

This phrase stresses the importance of laser-like focus on your primary objective. In daily life, minor distractions and competing demands easily pull attention away from what truly matters. Covey encourages people to identify their ultimate priority, whether in work, relationships, or personal growth, and consistently align their time and decisions around that single central purpose without getting sidetracked.

Popularised by American educator Stephen Covey, this maxim became a core principle of his time management and leadership teachings, most notably featured in his discussions surrounding his 1989 bestseller, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.

People often hang this print in a home office or study to maintain clear focus during busy workdays.
