The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. — Bible | Printable Wall Art

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.”

Words by Bible — Psalm 23:1.

About this quote

This classic opening line uses the metaphor of a shepherd caring for sheep to express absolute trust in divine protection and care. To say one shall not want means every true need is met. It offers a sense of deep peace, suggesting that under a watchful guardian, one lacks nothing required for spiritual comfort and guidance.

The opening verse of Psalm 23 from the Hebrew Bible, traditionally credited to King David. This phrasing became universally recognised through the King James Bible, published in England in 1611, and remains one of the most familiar passages in scripture.

People often hang this print in a bedroom or quiet study to bring a calming sense of reassurance.
