That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind. — Neil Armstrong | Printable Wall Art

“That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”

Words by Neil Armstrong (1930-2012) — Astronaut, first person to walk on the Moon.

About this quote

This famous phrase contrasts a simple physical action with its immense historical significance. Taking a single physical step onto the lunar surface was a modest human effort, yet it represented centuries of technological progress and collective human ambition. It suggests that individual actions, when backed by shared purpose and effort, can lead to monumental achievements for all humanity.

Spoken by Neil Armstrong on 20 July 1969 as he became the first human to set foot on the Moon during the NASA Apollo 11 mission. The words were broadcast live to a global television audience.

People often hang this print in a study or classroom to inspire ambition and foster a sense of curiosity.
