About this quote

This line encourages practical action over perfection. Instead of waiting for ideal circumstances, better resources, or complete readiness, one should begin taking steps immediately. It breaks down daunting ambitions into manageable tasks, reminding us that progress relies on using current abilities and tools rather than worrying about what is missing.

The quotation is attributed to American tennis champion and civil rights campaigner Arthur Ashe. It gained widespread popularity in the late twentieth century as a concise guide to personal resilience and self-reliance.

People often hang this print in a home office or study to encourage steady progress on daily work.
