Spend each day trying to be a little wiser than you were… — Charlie Munger | Printable Wall Art

“Spend each day trying to be a little wiser than you were when you woke up.”

Words by Charlie Munger (1924-2023) — Vice Chairman of Berkshire Hathaway.

About this quote

This line encourages a lifelong commitment to gradual personal growth. Rather than seeking sudden transformations, it advocates for small, deliberate daily improvements in knowledge and judgement. Over time, these modest gains accumulate into significant wisdom. It serves as a practical reminder that self-improvement is an ongoing daily discipline rather than a single destination.

Charlie Munger offered this advice during his 2007 commencement address at the University of Southern California Law School. It encapsulates his personal philosophy of continuous mental compounding, which guided his career as an investor and thinker.

People often hang this print in a home office or study to encourage daily learning and focused self-improvement.
