Man soll den Tag nicht vor dem Abend loben — German Proverb | Printable Wall Art

“Man soll den Tag nicht vor dem Abend loben”
“One should not praise the day before evening.”

A traditional German saying, set as gallery-quality typographic wall art.

About this quote

This traditional saying counsels against premature celebration. It reminds us that circumstances can change suddenly, so one should wait until an event or day is entirely complete before passing final judgement. The underlying idea promotes patience, humility, and realistic thinking, encouraging people to remain grounded rather than assuming a good start guarantees a successful outcome.

This is an old folk proverb deeply rooted in German-speaking regions. Recorded in written collections for centuries, similar expressions exist across Europe, reflecting a shared cultural preference for practical caution over hasty optimism.

People often hang this quote in a home office or study as a steadying daily reminder to stay focused.
