Laž ima kratke noge. — Croatian Proverb | Printable Wall Art

“Laž ima kratke noge.”
“Lies have short legs.”

A traditional Croatian saying, set as gallery-quality typographic wall art.

About this quote

Dishonesty does not travel far before it is caught out. A lie might seem to move quickly at first, but it lacks the endurance to outrun the truth. Eventually, reality catches up, exposing the falsehood. It serves as a simple moral reminder that honesty remains the most sustainable choice in the long run.

This is a traditional proverb widely used in Croatia and across various Slavic cultures. Its exact origin is lost to history, but it has circulated for centuries as a piece of oral folk wisdom.

People often hang this print in a hallway or classroom as a daily reminder to value honesty.
