Words by George S. Patton (1885-1945) — U.S. Army general, WWII.

About this quote

This line demands decisive action and momentum. It offers three clear choices: step up to direct the effort, fall in line to support it, or step aside so others can work. It rejects hesitation and bureaucratic delay. The core message is that progress requires active commitment, and passive observers only stand in the way of achievement.

The quote is widely attributed to General George S. Patton during the Second World War, capturing his aggressive command style. While popular in military folklore, the exact speech or document where it first appeared remains unrecorded.

People often hang this print in a home office or study to encourage decisive action and drive momentum.
