Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see a shadow. — Helen Keller | Printable Wall Art

“Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see a shadow.”

Words by Helen Keller (1880-1968) — American author and disability rights advocate.

About this quote

This quote encourages a hopeful and positive outlook on life. By consciously choosing to focus on bright, encouraging thoughts rather than dwelling on hardship, darkness naturally recedes from view. It does not mean problems disappear entirely, but rather that directing your attention towards hope changes your daily experience and gives you the resilience needed to keep moving forward.

The line is attributed to Helen Keller, the deafblind American author and campaigner. While it appeared in various collections during her lifetime, it captures her lifelong philosophy of optimism despite facing severe physical challenges.

People often hang this print in a sunlit kitchen or hallway to start their day with optimism.
