Imagination is more important than knowledge. — Albert Einstein | Printable Wall Art

“Imagination is more important than knowledge.”

Words by Albert Einstein (1879-1955) — Theoretical physicist, developed the theory of relativity.

About this quote

Einstein suggests that while knowledge encompasses everything we currently understand, it is inherently limited. Imagination, by contrast, has no boundaries. It drives curiosity, sparks innovation, and encourages us to explore the unknown. Without creative thinking, existing facts cannot lead to new discoveries, making imagination the true engine of human progress and scientific breakthrough.

This quote comes from an interview with George Sylvester Viereck, published in The Saturday Evening Post in October 1929. Einstein explained that his own scientific work owed more to creative intuition than to standard analytical processing.

People often hang this print in a study, home office, or classroom to encourage creative thinking and curiosity.
