Ich lehre euch den Übermenschen. Der Mensch ist etwas, das überwunden werden… — Friedrich Nietzsche | Printable Wall Art

“Ich lehre euch den Übermenschen. Der Mensch ist etwas, das überwunden werden soll.”
“I teach you the overman. Man is something that shall be overcome.”

Words by Friedrich Nietzsche (1844-1900) — German philosopher.

About this quote

Nietzsche suggests that humanity is not the ultimate end of evolution, but a bridge to a higher state of being. The "overman" (or Übermensch) represents a person who creates their own values, transcends conventional morality, and achieves self-mastery. Rather than remaining complacent, individuals should constantly strive to overcome their limitations and fulfil their potential.

This line appears in Friedrich Nietzsche’s 1883 philosophical novel Thus Spoke Zarathustra. Spoken by the prophet Zarathustra to a crowd in a market square, it introduces one of the central concepts of Nietzsche’s later philosophy.
