I never dreamed about success. I worked for it. — Estée Lauder | Printable Wall Art

“I never dreamed about success. I worked for it.”

Words by Estée Lauder (1908-2004) — Founder of the Estée Lauder cosmetics company.

About this quote

This statement contrasts passive ambition with active effort. It suggests that wishing for achievement is useless without practical commitment and daily labour. Lauder highlights that true accomplishment is not a stroke of luck or a fantasy made real, but the natural outcome of persistent hard work, resilience, and personal dedication. Action matters far more than mere aspiration.

The line is widely attributed to American cosmetics entrepreneur Estée Lauder, who built a global beauty empire from scratch. It reflects her well-documented business philosophy, which she shared in interviews and her 1985 autobiography.

People often hang this print in a home office or study to encourage focus, discipline, and daily effort.
