Words by Claude Monet (1840-1926) — Impressionist painter, founder of French Impressionism.

About this quote

This phrase captures a deep need for natural beauty and sensory inspiration. For an artist, flowers are not merely decorative objects; they are living subjects that offer endless variations of light, colour, and texture. The repetition of the word always stresses that surrounding oneself with nature is essential to sustaining creativity, joy, and emotional well-being throughout life.

Claude Monet was an avid gardener as well as a painter, famously cultivating his extensive gardens at Giverny. This line reflects his lifelong passion for botanical subjects, which inspired many of his most celebrated Impressionist works.

People often hang this print in a bright kitchen or living room to bring a sense of nature indoors.
