High expectations are the key to everything. — Sam Walton | Printable Wall Art

“High expectations are the key to everything.”

Words by Sam Walton (1918-1992) — Founder of Walmart.

About this quote

Setting ambitious standards drives personal performance, resilience, and ultimate success. When you expect great things from yourself and your team, you naturally stretch your abilities to meet those demands. Low targets invite mediocrity, whereas aiming high creates a mindset focused on continuous improvement, effort, and achieving exceptional results in whatever you choose to undertake.

This line appears in Sam Walton's 1992 autobiography, Sam Walton: Made in America, written with John Huey. It forms part of his core rules for business success, reflecting his management philosophy while building Walmart into a retail empire.

People often hang this in a home office or study to encourage ambition and maintain focus on goals.
