Happiness is not pleasure, it is victory. — Zig Ziglar | Printable Wall Art

“Happiness is not pleasure, it is victory.”

Words by Zig Ziglar (1926-2012) — American author and motivational speaker.

About this quote

This line distinguishes short-lived gratification from deep, lasting fulfilment. While pleasure comes easily and passes quickly, true happiness requires effort, discipline, and overcoming obstacles. The quote suggests that real joy stems from personal achievement and mastering a difficult challenge, turning daily struggles into a meaningful sense of accomplishment rather than seeking mere comfort.

Popularised by the American motivational speaker and author Zig Ziglar, this sentiment reflects his late twentieth-century philosophy. He frequently emphasised that personal growth and success require active effort rather than passive enjoyment.

People often hang this print in a home office or gym to stay motivated through challenging tasks.
