Happiness is a warm puppy. — Charles M. Schulz | Printable Wall Art

“Happiness is a warm puppy.”

Words by Charles M. Schulz (1922-2000) — Cartoonist and creator of Peanuts.

About this quote

This quote suggests that true contentment is found in simple, tangible comfort rather than grand accomplishments. A warm puppy represents innocence, physical affection, and uncomplicated loyalty. Schulz reminds us that emotional fulfilment often comes from small, daily moments of warmth and connection with those we care about, capturing a universal human need for gentle companionship and quiet security.

The phrase originated in Charles M. Schulz's Peanuts comic strip in 1960, showing Lucy hugging Snoopy. It became the title of his best-selling 1962 gift book, which popularised the format of defining happiness through simple everyday pleasures.

People often hang this print in a nursery, hallway, or cosy living area to invite gentle warmth and comfort.
