Great leaders do not desire to lead but to serve. — Myles Munroe | Printable Wall Art

“Great leaders do not desire to lead but to serve.”

Words by Myles Munroe (1954-2014) — Author and motivational speaker.

About this quote

This quote redefines true leadership as an act of service rather than a pursuit of power. It suggests that effective leaders are driven by a desire to help others and contribute to a greater good, rather than by personal ambition or status. Authority comes naturally to those who focus on meeting the needs of their community.

Myles Munroe was a Bahamian author, minister, and speaker who popularised principles of servant leadership. This idea appears throughout his late twentieth and early twenty-first century books and public lectures on personal development and organisational guidance.

People often display this print in an office or study to encourage humility and purpose in daily decisions.
