Dios los cría y ellos se juntan. — Spanish Proverb | Printable Wall Art

“Dios los cría y ellos se juntan.”
“God raises them, and they come together.”

A traditional Spanish saying, set as gallery-quality typographic wall art.

About this quote

This ancient Spanish saying means that people with similar characters, interests, or flaws naturally seek each other out. It suggests that our choices of friends and partners reveal our true nature. While often used with a slight touch of humour or gentle irony about misbehaving companions, it broadly celebrates the natural human tendency to find kinship with those who share our values and habits.

This traditional proverb has circulated in Spanish literature and popular culture for centuries. It appears in Miguel de Cervantes' novel Don Quixote in the early seventeenth century, though its origins as an oral saying are much older.

People often display this quote in a shared living room or hallway to welcome close, like-minded friends into their home.
