Denn da ist keine Stelle, die dich nicht sieht. — Rainer Maria Rilke | Printable Wall Art

“Denn da ist keine Stelle, die dich nicht sieht.”
“For there is no place that does not see you.”

Words by Rainer Maria Rilke (1875-1926) — Austrian-German poet.

About this quote

Rilke suggests that a work of art confronts us completely, even without visible eyes. The broken sculpture seems to radiate presence, turning its gaze back onto the viewer. It reminds us that art is not a passive object to admire, but an active force that scrutinises our existence and demands honest self-reflection and personal change.

This line comes from Rilke's 1908 poem Archaic Torso of Apollo, published in his collection New Poems. Written in Paris while working alongside the sculptor Auguste Rodin, the poem explores how ancient fragments retain a powerful, living intensity.

People often hang this print in a study or creative studio to encourage deep focus and daily self-reflection.
