Fight for the things that you care about, but do it in… — Ruth Bader Ginsburg | Printable Wall Art

“Fight for the things that you care about, but do it in a way that will lead others to join you.”

Words by Ruth Bader Ginsburg (1933-2020) — Supreme Court Justice and champion of gender equality.

About this quote

True advocacy requires more than passion; it demands persuasion. Ruth Bader Ginsburg reminds us that lasting change happens when we build consensus rather than alienate opponents. Defending your beliefs is essential, but doing so with grace and reasoned argument encourages others to support your cause. Effective leadership relies on bringing people together to create a movement larger than oneself.

Ginsburg spoke these words in May 2015 during a luncheon at Harvard University, where she was awarded the Radcliffe Medal. The quote succinctly captures her lifelong strategy as a lawyer and judge advocating for gender equality through careful legal precedent.

People often hang this print in a home office, study, or classroom to inspire thoughtful advocacy and collaborative leadership.
