Failure is not the outcome, failure is not trying. — Sara Blakely | Printable Wall Art

“Failure is not the outcome, failure is not trying.”

Words by Sara Blakely (1971-) — Founder of Spanx.

About this quote

This quote redefines how we view setback and success. It suggests that a disappointing result is simply a lesson rather than a defeat. True failure only occurs when fear prevents you from attempting something in the first place. By shifting the focus from the final result to the effort made, it encourages bold action, resilience, and a willingness to embrace risk without shame.

American entrepreneur Sara Blakely, founder of Spanx, has frequently shared this mindset in interviews and speeches. She credits her father with instilling this lesson during her childhood, encouraging her to reframe setbacks as part of personal growth.

People often hang this print in a home office or study to encourage courage during difficult projects.
