Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless, like water. — Bruce Lee | Printable Wall Art

“Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless, like water.”

Words by Bruce Lee (1940-1973) — Martial artist, actor, and philosopher.

About this quote

This quotation encourages mental flexibility and adaptability. By letting go of rigid thoughts and fixed expectations, you can respond naturally to any situation you encounter. Like water fitting into a cup or flowing around a rock, a flexible mind remains calm, resilient, and ready to adapt without breaking when faced with life's unexpected obstacles and changes.

Bruce Lee spoke these famous lines during a 1971 television interview on The Pierre Berton Show. The phrase reflects his martial arts philosophy, Jeet Kune Do, which was heavily influenced by ancient Taoist principles regarding adaptability and flow.

People often display this print in a home gym or study to encourage focus, resilience, and adaptable thinking.
