Do not fear mistakes. There are none. — Miles Davis | Printable Wall Art

“Do not fear mistakes. There are none.”

Words by Miles Davis (1926-1991) — American jazz trumpeter and composer.

About this quote

In creative endeavours, what seems like an error is simply an unexpected direction. Jazz relies heavily on improvisation, where every supposed misstep can be resolved or turned into something intentional. This statement encourages total creative freedom, reminding us that fear stifles original thought. In art and life, accepting unpredictable outcomes often leads to genuine discovery and growth.

Miles Davis was a pioneering jazz trumpeter whose philosophy centred on musical improvisation. While widely attributed to him in modern collections of musical and artistic advice, the exact interview or recording where it first appeared remains unverified.

People often hang this print in a music room, creative studio, or office to encourage bold experimentation.
