Delegating work works, provided the one delegating works, too. — Robert Half | Printable Wall Art

“Delegating work works, provided the one delegating works, too.”

Words by Robert Half (1918-2001) — Founder of Robert Half International.

About this quote

This line reminds us that effective leadership relies on shared effort, not abandonment. While handing off tasks is essential for growth, a leader must remain active and involved. Delegation fails if it becomes an excuse to stop working. Success happens when managers continue to contribute alongside their team, maintaining accountability and mutual respect across the entire workplace.

Associated with Robert Half, founder of the global recruitment agency Robert Half International. It emerged in the late twentieth century as a practical workplace maxim, drawing on his extensive experience in corporate staffing and management.

People often hang this in a home office or study to encourage balanced management and active teamwork.
