Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or… — Rabindranath Tagore | Printable Wall Art

“Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky.”

Words by Rabindranath Tagore (1861-1941) — Bengali poet and Nobel laureate.

About this quote

This line reflects on ageing and resilience, reframing life's hardships as sources of beauty rather than distress. As time passes, difficult moments no longer feel like destructive storms. Instead, they provide depth, perspective, and colour to later years. Tagore suggests that accepting life's changes transforms potential grief into peaceful contemplation, making the end of one's journey more vibrant and meaningful.

The line comes from Tagore's 1916 collection Stray Birds, a book of short translated aphorisms and poetic fragments. It reflects his philosophical views on nature, mortality, and the passage of time.

People often hang this print in a bedroom or quiet study to inspire peaceful reflection during quiet evenings.
