Meglio ridere che piangere. — Italian Proverb | Printable Wall Art

“Meglio ridere che piangere.”
“Better to laugh than to cry.”

A traditional Italian saying, set as gallery-quality typographic wall art.

About this quote

This classic Italian saying offers a practical philosophy for dealing with difficulty. When faced with misfortunes, setbacks, or absurd situations beyond our control, choosing humour over despair keeps us resilient. Laughter does not change the reality of a hard situation, but it alters our perspective, granting the strength needed to carry on rather than succumbing to sorrow.

This traditional folk wisdom has circulated throughout Italy for generations. As an oral proverb, its precise origins are unknown, but the sentiment is deeply rooted in Mediterranean culture and appears across various regional dialects.

People often hang this print in the kitchen or hallway to bring a lighthearted, daily reminder into common areas.
